A day in the life
The Paid Advertising Associate Director demonstrates exceptional management skills and a strong leadership presence. They oversee a team of 3+ direct reports and are well-respected, trusted, and adept at rallying them toward shared and individual goals. They take an active role in coaching their team, including mentoring, role-playing, feedback, and skill development. They handle complex client accounts with high-quality execution, strategic thinking, and timely communication. The Paid Advertising Associate Director positions themself as an industry leader by proactively driving client growth, innovating new channel strategies, and continuously improving the skills of the team they oversee.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of a pod of paid advertising team members
- Effectively manage bandwidth, sentiment, and utilization of team members within the pod
- Oversee the development of team members to build skills, address weaknesses via coaching, and facilitate progression in their career goals
- Lead and facilitate a positive team member experience, acting as a champion for the team and motivating a great team culture within the pod
- Oversee the delivery of a great product for clients in your pod
- Proactively craft and execute solutions to facilitate an effective working dynamic within a pod, creating synergies among team
- Ensure no revenue-impacting errors for your pod due to a lack of QA processes
- Responsible for the development of team member marketing skills and the elevation of strategic capabilities
- Manage your book of business and monitor the status of accounts' performance, sentiment, and standing to retain and grow clients
- Conduct monthly health reviews with each individual within your pod, ensuring the highest product quality is being delivered across their book
- Paid pod 98% adherence to planned spend/budget accuracy
- Act as Senior Lead or Account Director across a book of clients, executing on client workflows and ensuring on time delivery
- Lead proactive strategy recommendations across assigned channels, surfacing opportunities and risks ahead of client requests.
- Maintain client testing roadmaps and project manage next steps, ensuring a consistent, ongoing cadence of experimentation.
- Escalate performance risks early, distinguishing normal fluctuation from genuine account risk requiring intervention.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of the Power Circuit and the nova ecosystem, adapt to evolving processes, and contribute to operational excellence for yourself and your team. Ensure the team executes on all solutions identified.
- Leverage AI technologies to optimize workflows, insights, and performance; model best practices for team adoption.
- Act as a point of escalation for team members as it pertains to strategy and account performance to coach, diagnose, and facilitate solutions
Role Requirements
- 5+ years of digital marketing experience. 3+ years in agency setting
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Search Engine Marketing

- Specifically having experience with campaign development and optimization processes such as bid optimization, keyword research, ad copy development on large, enterprise-level accounts
- Significant campaign management experience in 3 or more of the following additional campaign types:
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Meta ads direct response campaigns
- Additional platforms a plus (TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Pinterest Ads, etc.)
- Lead Gen and B2B experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- Proficiency in Google/Microsoft Office Suite(s)
- Proficiency in Google Analytics
- Expert knowledge of funnel marketing and paid advertising’s place in the marketing funnel
- Strong ability to formulate meaningful insights from marketing data, going beyond the stat and telling the story
